From a hard copy letter dated and mailed on January 6, 2020, directed to the Vallejo Fire Department, received by Katie Buchanan on January 13, 2020:
"Under the California Public Records Acting §6250, et seq., I am requesting an opportunity to inspect or obtain copies of public records of any and all incoming emergency calls from Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, located at 1001 Fairgrounds Drive, Vallejo, California, 94589. The records requested herein are from the period April 22, 2013 to April 22, 2018.
If there are any fees relating to this Request, please inform me. However, I would like to request a waiver of all fees in that the disclosure of the requested information is in the public interest and will contribute significantly to the public's understanding of the safety of amusement parks. This information is not being sought for commercial purpose. The California Public Records Act requires a response within ten (10) business days. If access to the records I am requesting will take longer, please contact me with information about when I might expect copies or the ability to inspect the requested records.
If you deny any or any of this Request, please cite each specific exemption you feel justifies the refusal to release the information and notify me of the appeal procedures available to under the law.
